Title: Tennis

Last Tuesday we went out as a class to play some Tennis. We had so much fun. We had to get into pairs. There were 4 Tennis nets, six people, and three of us had to stand on the other side of the tennis net.

We played a game called king and queen. It was a good game because people were happy and
had lots of fun while they were playing. I didn't want to play tennis because it was boring for me and my friend. We said to our teacher we did not want to play a game, but our teacher said we had to try at least one single game. We said we already did but really we didn't because we didn't like it. We said to our teacher that its not our sport but she just smiled at us .

After we finished playing king and queen we had to go back in to our class room because we had finished. It was time for another class to lean how to play tennis and how to use a tennis racket. Some of us did not know how to hold a tennis racket or to hit the ball even, so the tennis person showed us how to hold a tennis racket. The teacher showed how to hit the ball from and to the ground it was a cool day to play tennis.

My class had so much fun when we went out to play tennis it so fun because we know how to play tennis and now we got some new silk that we got to do with our partners I really think that I had a really good time when we went out to play tennis I enjoy myself even though I didn't play most of the games when we went out to play tennis

holiday highlights 2011

Tattooist
Hairdressing
Barber

The tattooist person was my auntie friends brother and the boss was my auntie friend as well my uncle and that had to paint the shop black and gold because the other colour was pink and cream they didn’t like that colour because there were going to be a Baber and a Tattooist that was going to work their with my auntie and her friend they are all Tongans.


The Tattooist had some mean pictures people wanted him to give them a tattoo but they had to wait tell Tuesday because the had just moved in to their shop so the had to make his space so that he can work with the people who wanted a tattoo.


The hairdressing people was my auntie and her friend they are both Tongans they ask as if we wanted to do our hair but we said no because we had to help the barber and the tattooist out and my auntie we wanted to get our hair done but we had to help to clean up so they can open the shop so people can get their hair done and get a tattoo from the tattooist.



The baber had some hair cut that he was going to do on some of the people that was going to get their hair done some of the people that were going to see him on Tuesday. They ask him if he could give them nigger lines.And other things that he can do.It was so cool because we can get what ever we want.

Asttle Writing

Tuesday was an exciting day. We had a lot of fun doing silly sports on the bottom field. We had to get ready for silly sports. Some of us had school uniform and some of us had spare clothes. Our class was playing ball tiggy with our teacher (Mrs Lagitupu). We had so much fun. My team won the game. We had bands. Our teams colour band was green and some of us had spectacular skills and that’s why we won some of our games.

The other sports that we were playing was slingshot with Miss Tito. We had to get the ball in to a hope so that we will get a points for our class so that we can play water fight.There were two boys from our class that had to hold the slingshot up so that we can put ball that we had in our hand and put it on the slingshot and pull down and then let it go and it will fly and it had to land in a hope so that we can get a point of our class if we got the ball in the pink hope we would of got 100 points to our class so that we could go out and play, water fight.

After we were done with Miss Tito we had to go to Mr Harris we had to get a partner and then we had to get a string to tie it to our leg and get the spoon and the tennis ball. We had to walk with the spoon in one hand with the tennis ball on the spoon and if we dropped the tennis ball we had to go back start again. There can only two people that can win the game and compete with room 19, 20, our class and 22. It was kind of fun but I didn’t want to play because it was boring.

The last game was with Mrs Nua. We had to sit down and we would get a number and go to a bucket. My group had 7 people in our our team. What we had to do was we had a bucket in front of us and in that bucket was a sponge. Then we had to go under us and go pass us and we had to get from the front to the back we had to fill our bucket up so that we could win the game some of the people in the other team was making the other person in their team get wet. We did really well and had won our game 2 times that was so close to wining we though it will be the yellow team that were going to win the game I think we had about 3 times to play that game with Mrs Nua.

Sonny Bill Williams

Sonny William Williams (born 3 August 1985), better known as Sonny Bill Williams, is a New Zealand rugby union player and a heavyweight boxer. He is only the second person to represent New Zealand in rugby union after first playing for the New Zealand Kiwis and the first to do so since Karl lfwersen in the 1920s. He started his professional rugby league career with the Canterbury Bulldogs in the Australian NRL.

Dan Carter
Born on the 5th March
He is a New Zealand professional rugby union player.
He is currently the highest points scorer in test match rugby and is regarded as one of rugby's greatest ever fly-halves.
I think that Dan Carter is a good player because he scores lots of points for the All Blacks.

Holiday highlight

In the holidays I went to Hastings to see my family. When we got there it was dark. In the morning we had to get ready for a wedding, because the bride is my auntie and she looked so pretty in her wedding dress. We went to a 21st birthday the next day.

My family and I had to do a Tongan dance, then we did a Cook Islands dance too. We had to do the dances because the groom was a Tongan and the bride was a Cook Islander

The bridesmaids wore pink dresses because the bride liked pink, that is why we had to wear pink too. I did not want to wear pink. I wanted to wear blue because it’s my favorite colour.

I had so much fun when I was there. I got to meet the grooms family, they were nice people but some of them were boring. My mum had to make a big dish of potato salad, Cook Island style. Everybody enjoyed it. I did not get to eat any, but my mum made some at home. It was really nice.

Design a sign

Term 2 highlights

My Term 2 highlight was the Tamaki Science Road Show. What I liked about the Tamaki Science Road Show is that we got to go and see experiments that were on the tables. The one that most people went to was the one that people had to lift up the pole that was attached to a bowling ball. You had to let it go and it will go up a tube that had a little ball. It would go on the ground or some one must of caught it. I think that I learnt so much things when I was at the Tamaki Science Road Show.

The other thing that I liked was Taoga Time. My teachers name is Ms Va’afusuaga. When it’s raining we have to go in the green room with our netbooks and we have to go on rugger land. It is a rugby game but it also has maths games on it, that is why I like going on rugger land. The game that I like to go on is rugger maths. You have to register before you go on.

Tamaki Tech

I enjoy going to Wood work (hard materials) because it is fun. We go to Tamaki college so we can learn good skills from the class that we are in.
We go with the year 8s and the year7s to Tamaki College. It is fun when we are in our classes that we were put in.

The class that I am in at Tamaki College is wood tech and the teacher’s name is Mr Grundy. The thing that I made was a chair. It can not have sharp edges on the chair. That is why we use the sandpaper to smoothen the edges so that you can give it to your little sister or brother to play with.

I am looking forward to bringing it home and I am glad to have made a chair but I was also going to make a pool table as well.

Tamaki Science Roadshow

On Thursday Room 18,19,21 went to Tamaki College for the Science road show. When we got there we had to sit down. When we all sat down in the hall we saw other school in there. We had to wait before we went in to our groups that we were put in.

After you had done that you had to go to a teacher and get a clip on the card. Our group looked at all the experiments that were on the tables. The one that most people went to was the one that people had to lift up the pole that was attached to a bowling ball.

We had a great time at our Tamaki Science Road Show that we went to. We had a good day when we went to Tamaki college.

Cellphones


CellphonesCellphones weren't out when our teacher was young back in the days. After about 15 years ago phones were out but you had to carry it around with you. But now you can put it in your pocket. There are heaps types of phones that are now in the world. What people use phones for are texts, music, Youtube, Internet, Bebo, games, alarm, Calling, and recording. There are groups of people who have cellphones like adults, workers and some young people.

Immersion Rotation

This term we have been doing immersion about ‘Bigger, Better, Faster, Stronger’. Its our topic for the term. We all have 5 immersion classes that we have to do. We have just 2 more to do and we have done 3 for now.

The first immersion station that we did as a class was imagination with our teacher. What we had to do is that we got in groups and sat around a table and had a piece of paper on our table. Each piece of paper had a question about imagination and what it means.We had to brainstorm our ideas. Then we had to make an imaginary pet. We could do what we liked with our imaginary pet and we had to give him or her a name. My pet was called King Boy.

The other Immersion that we also went to was with Ms Tito. We had to create our own name in what ever writing that we know how to do. What I did to create my name was with bubble worm writing. I did my name like that because I thought that it was a good idea to do it that way. Our class was not allowed to copy what her class did to create their names.


Room 21 went to Mr Barks for our next immersion. What we were learning with him was practicality. What Mr Barks had in his hand was a leaf blower in his hand. He turned it on and blew it at us. It smelt like petrol.
Immersion was cool. I learnt heaps of things. It was a good experience.

David Tua


David Tua was born on the 21st of November. The 38 year old Samoan professional boxer is also known as Tuaman and the Tuamanator. He represented New Zealand in the 1992 Summer Olympics and won bronze. David Tua is well-known for his has a devastating left hook and for his ability to end fights early. In 2003 Tua was named the 48th greatest puncher of all times by Ring Magazine. Tua trained hard to achieve success in boxing. In his early career he trained at least 3 days a week in his Mangere gym. I think we can all learn a lesson from Tua and that is, to be great at something you have to train hard and give it your best!

Zinger Pinger

My pet is the best pet in the world because he can get you what you want when you call him. His name is King Boy. He will get you what you need. Why I like my pet is that he is fun to play with and he has spikes that can keep you safe. He also has laser eyes that can see through things. He can also wear clothes and plays video games. He can also play on an Xbox 360.

Term1 highlight

My highlight this term is that I am in the class that my friends are in and I liked it when we went on camp.

What I like about my camp highlight is that we got to go kayaking with Mr Burt. We got to go on the field to do Rock Up. The thing I liked about Rock Up is I got the time to go on the dunker. When I got on the dunker I got dunked. I got dunked by Tanielu. By the way he has a good arm to get you down in the water.


My other highlight that I liked this year when I was on camp is on the last day we went to Swimarama. Some of us went swimming in our singlets and shorts.

We weren’t allowed to go in the pool with singlets but the life guard did not care when we went in the pool with singlets on. My other highlight is that I got to go and jump off the diving board and go down the slide plenty of times.

My friends

What I like about my friends is that they give me lollies and we get to chat on our netbooks sometimes.

My friends names are Aneisha, Pesi, Pharrah, Mui, Sharon, Athena, Bobbi-Grace and Mauina. I first met them when I started school. When I first started I met Aneisha, Athena, and Pesi, and Reina.

My name is Maranda and I go to Pt England school. I am a year 7 and some of my friends are year 7s and 8s. I really like my year 7/8 friends. They are so cool to me that is why I like them as friends. We sometimes go to the GI bike track and go to the internet cafe.

Its cool having friends because you get to hang out with them. We go to places like Sylvia Park. My friends are cool.

Camp TC


I felt nervous at camp, but I enjoyed it.

Last Monday year 7&8 went to camp. When we got there we had to do activities. One of the activities that we did was kind of cool at the start but it got kind of boring. After the game that we were playing we had to go to Mr barks for our other activities when we got there we had to co-operate so that we have a good
time when we are doing our jobs. After our activities that we were doing, we went to Mrs Nua to put up our tent.

Next we went to hangi preparation with Ms Tito. Matthews mum was helping us to pack the food into the tray. The hangi tasted nice. I couldn’t even finish it because there was heaps of food in my tray.

My highlight of camp was Rock Up. I enjoyed the Dunker and Ski Boarding. My team beat the other team. I got dunked straight away from Tanielu. It was fun.

I really liked camp and I had a lot of fun with my team.

Tamaki Tech


Last Monday our year 7 & 8 went to Tamaki College for Technology. At Tamaki Tech we have 5 Classes.
Graphics, Wood work ,Electronics ,Science and Food tech. And in those classes I am in the food tech class.

Our Teachers name for food Technology is Mrs Heka. On the first day of Technology we made chelsea buns with Mrs Heka. She teaches us how to make some good food such as chocolate muesli slice. After we had made our food we got to take it back to school and eat it for our morning tea.

My graphs



This year we are learning how to make graphs. We have been learning all about statistics in maths.



Room 21 wanted to find out what peoples favourite colours, sports, t.v. programme, animal and fast food were. My bar graph and pie chart show what peoples favourite colours were. Most people liked blue.





Goals for 2011

My achievement that I was most proud of last year in the classroom was that I finished Year 6, because I am in Intermediate this year.


The thing I was most proud of last year out of the classroom was coming second in the 75 metre and 100 metre sprints.


In reading my learning goal is to read at 11 years by the end of the year. To achieve this goal I need to read harder books in school.


In writing my goal is to use full stops and punctuation. To achieve this goal I need to practice my writing and spelling.

In maths my goal is to understand BEDMAS. That’s what Mr Barks showed us last year.


My goal for this year around the school is to help other people and to stay out of trouble.
